FOUNDATION PHASE (3 to 7yrs)
The Foundation Phase at Llanharan Primary School includes children from Nursery to Year 2 and places great emphasis on children “learning by doing”. Our youngest pupils are given more opportunities to gain first-hand experiences through play and active involvement which focus on exciting learning activities both indoors & outdoors. There are seven areas of learning:
- Personal and social development, well-being and cultural diversity
- Language, literacy and communication skills
- Mathematical development
- Welsh Language development
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Physical development
- Creative development
